Growing up on a horse farm I was constantly surrounded by a variety of animals and even then I knew there was never a backup career choice for me, all I wanted to be was a vet. After years of schooling, earning first an undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston and then my DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, I finally achieved my life long goal of becoming a Veterinarian and I have loved every minute of it. Working on both large and small animals, there was one thing which always stuck out in my mind; the sharing of those final moments between an owner and their beloved pet. Whether it was a horse, a dog, or a cat, those memories will always be cherished. I am honored to be in the position to be able to make those moments easier, for the owner and for the pet. The end of life transition should be a peaceful and comfortable one.
