As long as I can remember, I’ve wanted nothing more than to become a veterinarian. Growing up on a horse farm I was constantly surrounded by a variety of animals and even then I knew there was never a backup career choice for me, all I wanted to be was a vet. After years of schooling, earning first an undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston and then my DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, I finally achieved my life long goal of becoming a Veterinarian and I have loved every minute of it.
Working on both large and small animals, there was one thing which always stuck out in my mind; the sharing of those final moments between an owner and their beloved pet. Whether it was a horse, a dog, or a cat, those memories will always be cherished. I am honored to be in the position to be able to make those moments easier, for the owner and for the pet. The end of life transition should be a peaceful and comfortable one.
Working with Lap of Love I hope to provide this peace and comfort by helping a pets final memories be those of love and security while they are surrounded by their loved ones and the comforts of everyday life. This is the last and perhaps greatest gift that we can give to our pets, and I feel fortunate to be able to help make this transition easier.
